Pretreatment Instructions

What Should I Do Before My Treatment Appointment

This is a common and often asked question by patients.  For most routine dental procedures including root canal therapy and minor surgical treatment such as root-end surgery (apicoectomy), single tooth extraction, bone grafting and implant therapy in which only local anesthesia is used you, do not need to alter your medication or eating schedule.  It is important that you DO NOT discontinue or stop any prescription medications prescribed by your physician unless specifically instructed to do so by Dr. Radatti, Dr. Duval or your physician.  Prior to your treatment appointment Dr. Radatti and Dr. Duval will review your medical history and consult with you and your physician if any changes to your medications are required.

For surgical treatment (root-end surgery, tooth extraction, implant therapy, bone grafting) please

DO NOT wear makeup.  Cosmetics can contaminate the surgical site.

For patient’s using sedation for their dental treatment there are specific recommendations to follow.  Please review the Pre-Sedation Instructions.
